The model's job on an editorial set is to hold a coherent character across changing looks while letting expression shift from one frame to the next. What varies between one commission and the next is the publication's own brief: the number of pages, the range of looks, whether the shoot runs half a day or a full one, and how much time is allowed for retouching and selection afterwards.
